RAAG regularly presents road safety presentations to organisations throughout the Mackay and Bowen Basin Region. Our presentations focus on specific road safety issues relevant to our region, and are facilitated by RAAG trained presenters. We currently offer two different presentations:
- Road Safety Awareness Presentation
- Fatigue Management Presentation
The Road Safety Awareness Presentation was developed in 2024, with thanks to funding from BMA. This presentation is a one-hour interactive presentation aimed at increasing awareness of road safety risks and issues in the Mackay and Isaac regions. Trained facilitators guide participants to understand their own risk profile and how they can play a part in staying safe on our roads. Click Here to find out more.
Our Fatigue Management Presentation focuses on the issue of fatigue and also runs for one hour. Fatigue is the second highest cause of fatal crashes in our region. Due to nature of our region, with many Drive In Drive Out (DIDO) workers, the distance between towns, means most people are required to drive long hours between home and work.
These presentations are designed to be accessible by any organisations or community groups, helping to create a road safe culture in our community. They are aimed for group sizes between 15 – 50.
Over the past twenty years RAAG estimates they have presented this program to up to 20,000 people in the Bowen Basin Region.
